Hi, my name is Sara. I'm the owner and photographer at Sara's Photography.
I didn't always know I wanted to be a photographer... I joined my local ambulance/fire department when I was 14 years old. I have always loved working with people (people are my thing). Straight out of high school I thought I wanted to be a police officer, then a respiratory therapist. I worked in the emergency room and got my EMT license.
I did however carry around a little point and shoot camera everywhere... I took pictures of everything!! I use to drive my friends nuts! Even then I didn't know. But around the time I was 18 or 19 my friend asked me to take pictures of her, her sister and her niece for her mom for a mother's day gift. That was the first time I held a DSLR and that was the day I fell in love with photography! I went to best buy the next day and bought a camera. I started taking photos of flowers, sunsets and waterfalls... it just wasn't enough, I wanted to take portraits. I think my sister was my first portrait I did, and I had to beg her!!!
I am self taught, I read everything I could, went to seminars, watched webinars and made lots of mistakes... but this was without a doubt what I was meant to do. I love the feeling of looking at life through my camera... I see the world differently. When shopping I buy things with the thought "could I put a baby in that?" I see locations in a totally different perspective and tend to make my girls pose places for me, "real quick, stand right there!" My happy place is outdoors with a camera in my hand.
I am so proud of the business I have created, the places I have been and most of all the people I have met! Thank you to every single person who has let me photograph them, their children and the special days in their life. Without you, there'd be no Sara's Photography!!!
